# Contributor Code of Conduct

## Our pledge

We want working on this project to be a technical experience: a bug is a bug, a wrong rule
is a wrong rule, and the person who found it is not the problem. We pledge to make
participation harassment-free for everyone, regardless of experience level, language,
nationality, appearance, identity or the tools they happen to use.

## Expected behaviour

- Argue about the code, the measurement and the risk — not about the person.
- Show the command and its output when you claim something is broken.
- Accept that a maintainer may know a constraint you do not; ask for it instead of assuming
  bad faith.
- Keep a discussion on the topic; move a side issue to its own thread instead of hijacking.
- Never paste a real credential, a real client zone or personal data into an issue.

## Unacceptable behaviour

- Insults, personal or political attacks, and dismissive comments about a person's skill.
- Harassment in public or private, including unsolicited contact after a request to stop.
- Publishing someone's private information without their explicit permission.
- Publishing a security detail in public before a fix exists.
- Any conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

## Scope

This applies to issues, pull requests, discussions and any other project space, and to
public communication made on behalf of the project.

## Enforcement

Report a problem to the maintainers through the repository's private contact route
(GitHub → Security → Advisories is acceptable when the report is sensitive). Reports are
read within seven days. Responses, in order of severity:

1. a clarifying question and a request to change the wording;
2. a warning with the specific behaviour named;
3. a temporary block from the repository;
4. a permanent block.

The reporter is not named unless they agree. A maintainer involved in the incident does not
decide on it alone.

## Attribution

This document is written for this project, following the spirit of the
[Contributor Covenant](https://www.contributor-covenant.org/) 2.1.
